"The Princess and The Pilot" Would you choose Duty over your own emotion?

"A tale of forbidden love, The Princess and the Pilot"
Movie Score (8.97)
☆

~This is simply one of the best Anime movie I've watched.~

"Can you fly 12,000 kilometers into an enemy squadron, alone, while protecting a beautiful
princess?"

The Levahm Empire mercenary pilot Charles couldn't believe his ears when he heard that preposterous request. The future Empress, Fana, with beauty that was rumored to be like getting lost in the face of pure light -- and he was supposed to fly with her on a trip over the ocean?

Enemy fighter planes, each with overwhelming technological superiority, swarm after his multi-seat aquatic reconnaissance plane, the Santa Cruz! This is a story about love and aerial combat above an ocean watched over by the blue sky and cumolonimbus clouds.

Thoughts & Expressions

The Princess & The Pilot was recommended to me by my brother, At first I ignored him but then I gave it a try after a while. Then to my suprise, It was really good. It's so good that it became one of my favorites. A bestado who became an Ace pilot by just watching some flight drills when he was a child, And a princess whom he swore to deliver safely to the prince. Even though he clearly knew that the one who the princess loved was him. He still kept his promise in the line of duty. A really memorable anime for me.

Story : 86

With the story focused on only two noteworthy characters, it can be easy to assume that watching their interaction will be boring. On the other hand, one can easily empathize with the strong feelings of the characters. Each time The Pilot and The Princess are torn between duty and personal affection, even the reader can feel torn as to which decision they should make.

"Charles is ready to face the fight of his life"

Characters  90

This movie succeeded in one of the most important areas of making a good love story by convincing me, the viewer, that the main characters were truly in love. Neither of the characters in this movie just looked at each other and said "I love that person"

At the beginning of the movie The Princess and The Pilot were just in the same boat, or plane in this case, together and didn't have any emotional investment in each other, but as the movie continues, Their bond grows stronger and stronger until their love for each other is born.

Art & Animation  : 88

Madhouse presents its viewers with an artistic presentation that is both appropriate and experimental. Heavy use of the color blue is obvious from the theatrical poster alone as it represents the vastness of both the sky and the ocean.

It does not, however, drown out the other colors that are also presented, and certain environmental details make this anime movie as realistic as possible.

Enjoyment  : 95

"The Interactions between the two characters were enjoying to watch"
Fana seems like the composed Princess She is supposed to be at first, She seems like a quiet and clumsy Princess, Then She eventually cuts Her hair and She seems like your average girl. Then the Princess Character changed throughout the movie. Showing how more comfortable She felt being with Charles compared to when they first met.
