This movie could have been so much better if it wasn't short (46mins), Thus. Some of the scenes were kind of rushed because of the lack of time it had. Nevertheless this movie still succeeded in fulfilling it's duty. The ending was both happy and sad. But more on the sad side, The art was really beautiful. I suggest watching this Anime especially for those who love quiet but romantic kind of movies. And to those who love "Hanazawa Kana's" Voice" like me. :)

The story of The Garden of Words follows a
15 year old high school boy named Takao Akizuki who aspires to one day
be a shoe maker. On rainy days he likes to go to a park and create
different shoe designs in a peaceful place there, one day he meets a 27
year old woman named Yukari Yukino who skips out on work and spends most
of her time there.

Inside the romance genre, not all stories follow the same
pattern neither have the same setting (boy meets girl, girl likes boy)
and not always this love will be reciprocate. While the majority of
romances have heartwarming kiss scenes, love declarations and a
"physical" interaction between characters, this other kind of setting
chooses the conversations and thoughts to conduce the story.

Coming from creator Shinkai Makoto who
also made 5 Centimeters Per Second, it’s no surprise that the visuals are
absolutely stunning.
"Never have I seen animation this incredibly well done"
Watch the first 30 seconds and
you'll immediately understand what makes the artwork in this movie
different. I have never come across such detail to color, texture,
shading, shadow, and perspective when it comes to animation.

I really enjoyed this Anime alot, I even watched it a second time. The Art will just let you feel relaxed and comfortable, It kept me intrugued throughout the series. Watching how the relationship between these two develop is something you don't see everyday.
