When she was young, Hotaru was once lost when she played in the forest near her uncle's place that she visits every summer. There, she had a fateful encounter with a spirit, who helped her even though he would disappear if a human being touches him. She began to visit him every summer, even as she grows; while he waits for the summer to come, for their time together to flow again.

Thoughts & Expressions 

I don't really like wathing shoujo types of Anime's, But I heard many good things about this movie so I went and watched it anyways.

Even though it was very short. It didn't fail to show you the story they wanted to give, Unlike many short movies. This one didn't left you hanging.

At first I thought Gin was only joking about his curse (Which he can't be touched), Then thinking that they will live happily ever after. But I was wrong in the end.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie, So I recommend this to you if you have spare time or just want to watch a calm and relaxing movie.

The main story is about the relationship between Hotaru, who got lost in an enchanted forest and Gin, A spirit or so they call him. He plays with her and guides her out of the forest. 

Every summer, Hotaru comes back to that forest to play with Gin, Eventually, They didn't realized that they are longing for each other everytime summer passes.

But there's one sad thing about their relationship, It's the fact that She cannot touch Gin or else he will disappear and He cannot leave the forest for fear of being touched.

So they must wait for another three season to pass for summer to come again.

 

  

Time is cruel. Time is responsible for the summers that come and go, for the leaves in autumn that shrivel and fall to the ground at the mercy of the next toddler looking to create satisfying crunching sounds, for the long and cold winter.

There are only 2 particular Characters but can be considered as one because they are the story of the movie.
Gin : A mysterious person who doesn't age, His past wasn't clearly given any explanation aside from being raised by the guardian spirits.

Hotaru : A clumsy and energetic Girl who always comes back to play with Gin every summer, While also developing feelings for him.

The animation was simple but very well drawn, The colors was perfectly suited for the movie as well as every scenes. It fits each scenario perfectly and makes the emotional moments that much more special.

The Movie was both heartwarming and relaxing. I was a little intrigued with where the plot would take me. And As it progressed, It kept getting more interesting. To see how their relationship goes was refreshing, You will know the true meaning of love if you watch how these two progress. And In the end, I was filled with great feelings of happiness and sadness. It was definitely an enjoyable experience.
